72-metre Admiral megayachtGiorgio Armani, the renowned fashion designer, has expanded his creative ventures to yacht design with his first official collaboration with The Italian Sea Group. The new 236’ (72m) Admiral yacht line bears all the hallmarks of Armani’s timeless elegance and sophistication, combined with cutting-edge technology, impressive performance, and high-quality details. The unveiling of the first model, sold by IYC sales broker Michel Chryssicopoulos, took place at a private event held at Admiral’s headquarters in Italy on February 11, 2023. Around 650 VIP guests, many of whom are superyacht owners, came from around the world to witness the inauguration of the sleek, technological yacht.

Armani’s previous personal yachts, Mariù and Maìn, built by Codecasa in 2003 and 2008, respectively, boast highly distinctive designs unique to his signature style. Mariù features wide teak floorboards, bleached oak panelling, and open-plan saloons with minimalist staterooms, while Maìn enjoys an unusual dark green hull and an interior furnished with pieces from his Armani Casa collection. The crew of 14 also wear Armani, each uniform dictated by where the yacht is located, such as white Bermudas and long-sleeved shirts when in port, and shorts and short sleeves in a deep-sea green to match the boat’s livery while at sea.

The new Admiral superyacht is currently under construction at the Italian yard’s Marina di Carrara facilities and is scheduled for completion in early 2024. The full-custom project combines the Italian powerhouse’s design hallmarks with the latest technological innovations and Armani’s high-quality details and design. Giovanni Costantino, CEO, and founder of The Italian Sea Group told Boat International that the yacht would “represent a uniqueness in the panorama of superyachts.”

The collaboration with Armani is a further confirmation of The Italian Sea Group’s way of realizing unique projects with Made in Italy brands of excellence that share their values. The second hull in the 236’ (72m) Admiral line, also sold by IYC, is already under construction and due for delivery in 2025. The agreement has increased The Italian Sea Group’s stylistic sensitivity to Armani’s stylistic vision.

The unveiling of the new Admiral yacht was combined with an exclusive private viewing of the 2023 Spring Summer Armani collection, exploring the female form and themes of purity, reassurance, and deconstruction. The event was a luxurious affair, with the black-tie dress code and VIP guests from around the globe. The new yacht line’s design and the event’s opulence were the perfect representation of the Armani brand’s sophisticated and stylish vision.

In conclusion, the unveiling of Giorgio Armani’s first official yacht collaboration with The Italian Sea Group has generated excitement among admirers of the designer’s signature style. The 236’ (72m) Admiral yacht line bears all the hallmarks of Armani’s timeless elegance and sophistication, combined with cutting-edge technology and impressive performance. With the second hull in the line already under construction, it seems that Armani’s foray into yacht design has been a resounding success, and we can expect more unique and stylish projects from the iconic fashion designer.
