AirAsia has launched a massive 5 million FREE SEATS campaign to boost tourism across Asia and beyond. The airline is committed to stimulating travel to many exciting domestic and international destinations including Australia and New Zealand. Fares are on sale now, with international fares from Australia and New Zealand starting at just AUD $199*/NZ $220* to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Domestic flights in Asia are also available for under AUD/NZ $10*. Premium flatbeds are also on sale starting from under AUD/NZ $600*.

The booking period is from 11-19 February 2023, with a travel period from 1 March to 10 December 2023. Passengers can fly with the biggest airline with the widest network in Asia at the lowest fares and even receive FREE SEATS to Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Bali, Krabi, Phu Quoc, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen.

AirAsia’s 5 million FREE SEATS campaign pledges its support to the tourism industries of Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand. It aims to strengthen Malaysia and other hubs such as Thailand as a multi-faceted and multi-destination attraction. The airline’s strength as the biggest airline in Asia with the widest network and the lowest fares will serve to boost the economies of these countries.

The airline’s CEO, Tony Fernandes, noted that AirAsia is a major contributor to Malaysia and Asean’s GDP, contributing more than 2% of Malaysia’s GDP. In addition, AirAsia recently announced the industry-first Flight Delay Performance Insurance, which offers a one-off payment of RM200 (over AUD/NZ $60) if the flight is delayed for a minimum of two (2) hours from the originally scheduled departure time. The insurance will be available for purchase starting 20 February 2023 from RM10 (one way) or RM14 (return) which is less than AUD/NZ $10 on the airasia Super App and the website. AirAsia has also partnered with BigPay to provide automatic claims credited to the BigPay user’s account within three (3) working days.
