And did you know that spring, also referred to as the “secret season”, is the perfect time to experience all that this great state has to offer? During the months of March and April, Wyoming receives the highest snowfall of the year, making winter activities like skiing, snowmobiling, and fat biking possible into the spring. Meanwhile, the warm temperatures provide a full menu of springtime activities like hot springs and outdoor adventures.

Here are six ways to make the most of your spring visit to Wyoming:

Spring Skiing: Take advantage of the “last call” before ski resorts close for the summer season. From late February to early April, when temperatures begin to warm, you can enjoy discounted lift tickets and lower lodging and airfare rates. Some of the best spring ski destinations in Wyoming include Snowy Range Ski Resort, Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area, and the resorts in Jackson Hole, among others.

Snowmobiling: Wyoming has several snowmobiling areas that remain open until mid-March or later, including the Wyoming Range and the Continental Divide Snowmobiling Trail. Check out the Wyoming State Trails website for maps and up-to-date trail conditions.

Hot Springs: Soak in the natural hot springs in Wyoming, which are open all year round but are especially enjoyable when there’s snow on the ground. Some of the best hot springs include Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis, Saratoga Resort & Spa, and Granite Hot Springs in Jackson.

Spa Getaways: Stay indoors and pamper yourself at Snow King Resort’s new 9,000-square-foot spa, set to open in mid-February 2023. This new addition makes Snow King Resort the largest full-service resort and spa in Jackson, offering six treatment rooms, locker rooms, hot tubs, saunas, and more.

Museums and Galleries: Wyoming’s cities, even the smaller ones, have museums, galleries, and historical centres that are perfect for indoor entertainment. The National Museum of Military Vehicles recently opened the Poolaw Building, named after the most decorated Native American in U.S. military history.

Dining, Shopping, and Sipping: Wyoming has a thriving food and music scene, with new additions like Railspur in Cheyenne and The Drinkery in Casper. Casper also recently launched a Local Ale Trail, featuring eight breweries, making it the city with the most breweries in Wyoming. Other new dining options include The Warehouse Gastropub in Sheridan and Soda Springs in Casper. In Green River, check out the newly opened bike and board shop, Geared Up, which offers bike rentals and is conveniently located near the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem.

Visit Wyoming this spring to experience all the adventures and delights that this “secret season” has to offer!
