Hyatt Hotels has completed its acquisition of the Dream Hotel Group, adding a portfolio of lifestyle hotels including Dream Hotels, The Chatwal, and Unscripted Hotels to its portfolio. The acquisition includes 12 hotels (9 managed and 3 licensed) and 24 signed agreements for the future management of hotels.
The acquisition brings over 600 new employees to Hyatt, adding expertise in experiential hospitality and expanding Hyatt’s brand presence in destinations such as Nashville, Hollywood, Las Vegas, South Beach, and Saint Lucia, among others. The addition of Dream Hotel Group will strengthen Hyatt’s global lifestyle offerings and support its asset-light growth.
Hyatt’s acquisition of the Dream Hotel Group expands its lifestyle offerings and provides more elevated experiences for travellers. The acquisition will preserve the individual identities of the Dream Hotel Group hotels while leveraging Hyatt’s marketing and sales channels and the World of Hyatt loyalty program.
The founder of Dream Hotel Group, Sant Singh Chatwal, will remain an owner of Dream Hotel Group properties. Former Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein will join Hyatt as Head of Dream Hotels, guiding the integration of Dream Hotel Group into Hyatt. Other former Dream Hotel Group executives are also joining Hyatt in leadership roles.
Dream Hotels will be part of Hyatt’s Boundless Collection, while The Chatwal and Unscripted Hotels will join Hyatt’s Independent Collection.
