The Langham, Sydney celebrates the 2023 Lunar New Year with a delectable feast at Kitchens on Kent. Friends and family can ring in the year of the Rabbit as Executive Chef, Stephen Lech curates a variety of dishes to represent classic Chinese flavours with a contemporary twist.

From Friday 20th January to Sunday 5th February 2023, Kitchens on Kent will be transformed to honour this special time for family reunions, exchanging greetings for the coming New Year and ringing out the old with the new.

Executive Chef, Stephen Lech is preparing a buffet menu designed to bring the family together for the ultimate, celebratory feast:

To celebrate the Lunar New Year at Kitchens on Kent we will showcase the best of Chinese classic cuisine using locally sourced ingredients. Flavours of Asia will be reflected through our live wok station, Dim sum steamer, Chef’s carvery and Sushi, sashimi and seafood station. The menu includes  BBQ Berkshire pork neck with sesame and soy, Free range Soya duck with bok choy, Ocean trout filler with Ginger shallot sauce, crispy onions and chilli, and many other dishes to mark this auspicious occasion”

Our ever popular patisserie section is a must see, this year curated by award-winning Pastry chef, Anna Polyviou  featuring classic egg tarts, Lunar New Year cake and red bean buns along with our Kitchens on Kent dessert favourites including a chocolate fountain, ice creamery, and cookies jars with traditional fortune cookies.

To further mark the occasion and in keeping with time honoured tradition, on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day there will be opportunity for families and friends to toss for good luck with a large plate of Yu Sheng, a whole Suckling pig from our Chef’s carvery, along with lion dance performances – the ancient tradition to bring good luck and drive away evil spirits for the year.
