Spread the love

Travellers are rejoicing with Cairns city’s only swim up bar relaunching bigger and better this month at Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort.

Completed in time for the busy Christmas and New Year period, the update has not only refreshed the resort’s famous white-sand, lagoon style pool, but essentially doubled the capacity of Novotel’s one-of-a-kind swim-up bar, the Moku Beach Club.

Open seven days a week, Moku Beach Club complements the lagoon pool and palm tree lined gardens at Novotel, with vibrant sun lounges to soak up the Queensland sun in style. Guests can enjoy island-inspired cocktails and a contemporary menu share plates without ever venturing far from the water, with extra seating now available both beside, and inside, the cool surrounds of the new-look pool.

“Travellers love North Queensland’s great lifestyle and, as Cairns’ only swim up bar experience, Novotel’s Moku Beach Club and lagoon pool is a sought-after experience for visitors to the city,” said Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort’s General Manager, Scott Grant.

“Novotel’s latest refurbishment has essentially doubled the venue’s capacity with additional space and seating giving us an opportunity to welcome even more guests in this popular outdoor space this summer.”

Mr Grant added that Novotel was extremely fortunate that Shakespeare Property Group took strides to invest and keep the resort in a strong position over what has been a very busy period for tourism operators in North Queensland.

“Shakespeare Group’s progressive approach to refurbishments over the past two years – first with accommodation and restaurant updates and now with our leisure and lifestyle pool precinct- places us in a fantastic position for 2023. We’re ready to surprise, delight and excite our guests during the busy summer season and beyond.”

In 2022, Cairns remained one of Australia’s domestic tourism hot spots, which – combined with the stream of international guests this year – has seen the destination continue to be in demand with holidaymakers seeking a world-class experience.

Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort remains one of Australia’s best four and a half-star resorts, popular with leisure guests, and for group getaways and conferences.

Shakespeare Property Group Vice President – Hospitality Assets & Investments, Richard Saab, said, “Guest experience remains at the core of everything Shakespeare Hospitality Group does, both inside and outside our beautiful resorts.  “We are completely vested in Cairns, with Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort remaining one of the city’s most popular options for couples, families and groups of friends.  We’re delighted with our latest refurbishment which has put the spotlight firmly back on outdoor experiences which is of course the hero of any holiday in Tropical North Queensland, unveiling a modern and refreshed look for a new generation of sunseekers and family travellers to enjoy.”
