The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) celebrated an announcement today from Italia Trasporto Aereo (ITA), the flag airline of Italy, detailing plans to launch nonstop service from SFO to Rome on July 1, 2023. ITA intends to begin with three weekly flights between SFO and Rome–Fiumicino International Airport “Leonardo da Vinci” using Airbus A350 aircraft. On August 2, 2023, ITA plans to increase the schedule to five weekly flights.

Satero. “We know how great the demand is for nonstop service between San Francisco and Rome, and we are thrilled that ITA will be providing our customers with a fantastic option for nonstop flights in 2023. We thank ITA for making SFO their airport of choice for the San Francisco Bay Area and wish them success.”
ITA Airways is owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance for business in the air transport sector. The airline has been active since November 2020, serving over 60 scheduled destinations across Italy, Europe, and continents. ITA operates an all-Airbus fleet, including the new Airbus A350, which will operate the SFO-Rome route.
