Kakadu National Park is excited to announce that Australia’s premier Indigenous food and cultural festival is back in 2023 with unique events and activities and a new name: Karrimanjbekkan An-me Kakadu: Taste of Kakadu.
The new name, Karrimanjbekkan (pronounced: Gahdee-mayn-bek-gun) An-me Kakadu means “Taste of Kakadu” in Kundjeyhmi language.
Running for nine days from 13–21 May 2023, Karrimanjbekkan An-me Kakadu: Taste of Kakadu will take visitors on an amazing taste, sound and visual journey to discover the foods, stories and customs that have sustained the world’s oldest living culture for more than 65,000 years.
Set within dual World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, Karrimanjbekkan An-me Kakadu: Taste of Kakadu is a food experience unlike anything else in the world.
The festival is the perfect opportunity to visit Kakadu and experience traditional Aboriginal food, culture, music, dance, art and craft.
The 2023 festival program will be released in 2023.
