In addition to an epic travel insurance offering, Freely provides emergency assistance with health, travel, safety and security experts through a partnership with World Travel Protection, a global travel assistance provider.
We are introducing Freely: Your travel insurance and safety net for global and domestic endeavours.
With travel insurance often considered a burden rather than helpful, Freely is changing the game with an innovative on-demand offering.

Freely iPhone Xs – Welcome
Built on tackling the limitations often associated with travel insurance, and backed by Zurich, Freely is a far cry from the complex travel insurance policies of the past. From one intuitive app, Freely users can manage all their travel insurance needs: from insuring themselves for a spontaneous ski trip to connecting in real-time with informed health professionals to instantly logging a claim from overseas and 24/7 live chat support.
Through continuous monitoring of worldwide events, we can share real-time push notification updates and risk mitigation tools that help keep travellers safe while also supporting 24/7 with access to medical, travel and security assistance services, all from the Freely app.
On the partnership, Rodger Cook, General Manager of Global Security Services at World Travel Protection, says, “We are proud to be working with Freely to provide users with access to world-class protection.”
We looked at the typical travel insurance model and said, “how can we make this approachable, accessible, easy, and use business as a force for good?” Freely has launched as the world’s first end-to-end travel insurance and safety app in what has traditionally been an overcomplicated, counter-intuitive and difficult-to-navigate market.
With a commitment to making travel more inclusive, Freely covers many pre-existing conditions as a standard. Catering to travellers with depression and anxiety, as well as those with neurodivergent conditions such as autism, Freely is opening up the world of travel to more Australians. As Freely is mobile-first, users can quickly navigate their travel needs.
As part of this commitment, Freely supports the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund in its mission to protect threatened communities, cultures and wild places. In line with its mission to contribute to a better world, Freely has partnered with 1% For The Planet and, in doing so, donates 1% of all revenue to pressing environmental issues.
Whether planned or last-minute, travellers can toggle specific cover on and off in near-real time when they need it. And so, Freely was built, an app people would need and use for their adventures, says Doug Skoog, Head of Marketing at Freely. From skydiving to hiring a car, decisions can be made, and insurance can be secured, all from the palm of your hand.
Freely is available in Australia and the United States, with plans to expand into Canada and New Zealand in 2023.
The app is available for download for Apple or Android devices.
