Everyone’s favourite kids and family attractions will be found in one place, with a new $15 million Dreamworld-branded kids area replacing the current DreamWorks location, to make way for more local partnerships with homegrown brands that Dreamworld guests know and love.

The next several years will be an incredibly exciting journey, offering many more opportunities for the park to continue helping its beloved guests make new memories for years to come.

Late 2021 saw the launch of Dreamworld’s $32 million rollercoaster investment, Steel Taipan, and the celebration of the park’s 40th anniversary, but Dreamworld is not stopping there, making a range of exciting updates to the iconic Gold Coast attraction over coming years and into the future.

Tigers are an incredibly important element of the Dreamworld experience, first being introduced in 1995, offering a unique experience in which handlers interact directly with tigers.

“It’s an exciting time to be in Queensland and this $50 million recovery investment is a significant vote of confidence in the Gold Coast as Australia’s favourite visitor destination,” Mr Hinchliffe said.

Since the announcement of the first phase of Dreamworld’s future growth, while we have faced various challenges, we have also reached some incredible milestones and made some significant improvements both fiscally – and, importantly, in relation to our guest experience.

The refurbishment will also extend the existing Ocean Parade precinct including a reimagination of the bumper cars attraction and Pandamonium thrill ride, with the addition of a themed splash zone to help younger guests cool down in the warmer months.

Queensland Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said Dreamworld’s investment in new and upgraded attractions would be a huge contributor to the Gold Coast visitor economy.

Tiger Island remains a critical part of the experience at Dreamworld, and guests will continue seeing tigers on exhibit into the future. Featuring reimagined and relocated attractions as well as two new attractions under the Play School, Bananas in Pyjamas and The Wiggles brands, plus Dreamworld’s own Kenny and Belinda the Koala mascots, the area will offer a whole lot of family fun, all in one place.

Dreamworld’s Tiger Island remains committed to providing the best possible care for the welfare of its tigers and will work closely with both our expert team and external specialists to ensure a smooth transition.

and adults and will feature the world’s first inclined turntable, as well as Dreamworld’s most immersive theming and storytelling ever built.

The most significant single investment in this phase of the plan, and in Dreamworld’s history will be in a new, world-class family rollercoaster, Jungle Rush! Brand new vehicles will be introduced, offering a new air of adventure to the attraction.

It’s terrific to see Dreamworld building back better on the Gold Coast with more world-class destination visitor experiences for Queensland’s international recovery. The iconic entry to Dreamworld will be enhanced with an exciting new Wave Swinger attraction, situated alongside the Dreamworld Globe and sending guests tilting and spinning into the sky from mid-2023.

“Dreamworld’s investment plans are set to deliver more of Queensland’s great lifestyle for visitors to enjoy and support for good Queensland jobs.”

Dreamworld launches into a brighter future with the second phase of its future growth plan, including area upgrades and attraction investments of over $50 million. Featuring free daily shows in the Big Top, globe riders, aerial acts, comedy acts, hydro stunts in the Dreamworld Pond and even clowns, guests won’t want to miss the Circus at Dreamworld from 27 December – 8 January free with a valid park entry. Following the development of Kenny and Belinda’s Dreamland, the land currently occupied by ABC KIDS and The Wiggles World will be re-developed into a brand-new themed environment, aptly named Rivertown due to its location adjacent to the Murrissippi River.

Dreamworld remains committed to conservation and makes meaningful change via the Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation, which has supported tiger conservation projects in the field via Wildcats Conservation Alliance.

An accredited member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia (ZAA), Dreamworld’s transition keeps pace with developments in animal welfare science and aims to meet community expectations in relation to caring for exotic animals.

The Redesign of Vintage Car Adventure!

Vintage Cars Adventure will be relocated into Rivertown and redesigned to suit the surrounding lush jungle theming as Murrissippi Motors.

Dreamworld CEO Greg Yong says that the dream of Dreamworld’s recovery lives on, with more enthusiasm than ever to return the park to its former glory.

“Domestic tourism in Queensland has bounced back better than before Covid to rally to a nation-leading position for visitor spending. Despite the challenges faced, we have reached the incredible milestone of helping guests at Dreamworld make memories for over 40 years, and this series of announcements will help us to ensure we make them for many more”, said Mr Yong.

Guests will be able to jump on board a Dreamworld family favourite with a whole new look. This family-friendly ride will be suitable for children and adults, offering a delightful experience soaring over the famous globe.

Circus at Dreamworld this summer!

With the first summer school holiday period in recent years unrestricted by COVID impacts to take place from the mid-next month, Dreamworld will make the most of the silly season by becoming an absolute Circus! Having undergone significant review and consideration, in 12 – 18 months, Dreamworld’s Tiger Island will transition to an environment in which tigers and handlers do not interact directly.

Solar power at Dreamworld!

As a part of the refresh, Dreamworld will consult with the local community to develop a state-of-the-art and accessible Parents Room to ensure that the needs of every family are met during their theme park day out.

The panels will generate enough energy to power 198 houses for a year and will reduce the park’s carbon footprint by an estimated 920 tonnes in the first year. The area will offer a unique, immersive, and heavily themed experience, and will feature two jewels in its crown… In the first step on its journey to sustainability, Dreamworld is entering a partnership with Origin Energy to install a significant solar power system, reducing its energy cost and carbon footprint. The attraction will also offer an additional pay-per-play offering to the park’s night market.
