Get away from the hustle and bustle – by renting your private glamping site in the picturesque Hunter Valley.
The glamping site features a custom-designed and built pod with all the amenities not usually associated with camping, like a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and day bed.
Twelve months in the making, the glamping site stayed dry during significant floods in July. The floods impacted the whole Broke Fordwich region, with many people in the local community losing their homes.
Max Tolson, the owner of Broke Estate, said that launching the glamping site has given the family a great sense of optimism after a tough time.
“I shed a few tears of joy and relief when we awoke back in July to see that the tent and pod were still standing, despite being completely surrounded by water,” Mr Tolson said.
Before the floods, the site was just two weeks away from launching.
The Tolson family has spent many months preparing the property to welcome guests again after the floods. Friends, family, local businesses and volunteer groups have helped clear debris from the vineyard, repair fences and fix infrastructure.
“Something extra unique is that until all the roads are fully repaired, access to the glamping site is only via 4WD – so for those guests unable to get there in their own car, we have a Broke Estate 4WD for them to use,” he said.
“We wanted people to really experience our farm and reconnect with nature. People are on a well-earned holiday and want a bit of luxury so this is our take on camping, with all the trimmings.”
