Ovation of the Seas’ return to New Zealand is an exciting boost to local communities after more than two years without cruising says Jeff Leckey, Cruise General Manager at House of Travel. Each port call will inject NZ$1.1 million into the local economy, a total of NZ$70.4 million over Royal Caribbean’s 22-23 summer season.

At these destinations, guests will have access to both world-class shore excursions and the opportunity to explore destinations at their own pace. Having already sailed from Honolulu, Hawaii, for 13 nights, families from across the world will visit ports of call across New Zealand, a welcome boost to local industries and businesses.

Ports of call include destinations across Australia, New Zealand, and the picture-postcard islands of the South Pacific where guests can embrace island life. Over her sailing season from Oct. 2022 to Apr. 2023, Ovation of the Seas will make 58 port calls in New Zealand including Auckland, Bay of Islands, Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, Picton, Milford Sound, Dusky Sound, Dunedin and Christchurch.

New Zealand offers cruisers sweeping landscapes and scenery, as well as a host of rich activities on shore.

Ovation of the Seas offers guests a raft of 2–12-night sailings. Arriving in Napier this morning, Ovation will make calls in Wellington and Picton, before heading to homeport in Sydney to kick off her Australia and New Zealand summer season from Oct. 29. “Today the New Zealand travel industry celebrates the return of Royal Caribbean to our waters.

Dave Humphreys, director of sales at Royal Caribbean International Australia and New Zealand says cruises to New Zealand remain hugely popular with travellers. In a debut to New Zealand, sister ship Quantum of the Seas, which is homeporting in Brisbane for the first time, will also visit New Zealand. The absence of cruise ships has been felt across New Zealand.
