Malaysia AirlinesA lunchtime briefing for Australian travel media by the Sarawak Tourism Board in Sydney yesterday provided the perfect venue to unleash Malaysia Airlines’ latest in-flight safety video – an unforgettable singing and dancing spectacular.

Sarawak, the largest territory in Malaysia, is home to 27 ethnic groups speaking 45 different dialects, huge expanses of rainforest and 37 national parks. The orangutan, proboscis monkey, hornbill, the Rajah Brooke butterfly and the silverleaf monkey, all call Sarawak home.

More about Sarawak here tomorrow. In the meantime, the new Malaysia Airlines safety video is something else.

“Perhaps you’ve noticed this is not your average briefing alright,” it declares. And then it takes off.

Safety videos delivering entertainment and promotion alongside the core message are not new, but this one surely lifts the genre to new heights.
