A snowstorm over the weekend saw Thredbo Resort receive 53cm of spring snow on the upper mountain in the lead-up to the start of school holidays this week.A snowstorm over the weekend has delivered 53cm of spring snow to Thredbo on the upper mountain, setting the resort up for the upcoming school holidays and the final weeks of the snow season.
The recent snowfall comes ahead of Thredbo’s September Kids Snow Festival which begins on 23 September and runs throughout the school holidays until the end of the snow season on 3 October.
The Kids Snow Festival is a school holiday favourite of all ages, offering families a mountain of terrain to explore as they learn to ski or snowboard, a massive line up of free activities for the kids and plenty of après for mum and dad.

Thredbo General Manager, Stuart Diver said “The 53cm of fresh snow has arrived at the perfect time to freshen the snow cover up for the September school holidays and the final weeks of the snow season.”
“Skiers and snowboarders are showing big smiles this morning as they enjoy great springtime conditions on the mountain.”
Beginning on 23 September and running through to the end of the snow season on 3 October, families will be descending on Thredbo to enjoy spring skiing and non-stop family-friendly activities during the September Kids Snow Festival.
Featuring a series of movie nights, games, Lindt Chocolate smores, special kids flare runs, fireworks and plenty of après for mum and dad, the Kids Snow Festival is a school holiday favourite for all ages.
September is typically a great time of year for families to visit the mountain for skiing and snowboarding, with the spring conditions historically offering softer and forgiving snow conditions, lots of sun and warmer temperatures.
In addition to all of the family-friendly fun, the weekend’s spring snow top-up ensures that there will be plenty of on-mountain action for everyone to enjoy.
