COMO The Treasury unveils the fourth edition of their afternoon tea, the Seal Creek Edition. Located in the south-eastern wing of the State Buildings, and resting above the official marking of Perth’s Point Zero, the Cape Arid Rooms are the warm and inviting home of COMO The Treasury’s celebrated afternoon tea.The afternoon tea, like Philippa and Alex Nikulinsky’s artwork adorned across the walls, is inspired by Western Australia’s natural abundance with the menu spotlighting the finest local producers and ingredients. Journey through delights that range from a caramel macadamia brownie, to porcini mushrooms with Parmesan sabayon, truffled salt and puffed quinoa.
All tea blends featured on the Cape Arid Rooms afternoon tea menu have been carefully curated in collaboration with Teassential. State Buildings, Director of Wine, Emma Farrelly has chosen a selection of Champagne and Australian sparkling wine to complement the afternoon tea.
“We have focused on elevating every individual element of the afternoon tea service. From the carefully crafted tiers of the afternoon tea stands which feature three rich and distinct local woods, to a focus on continuing the experience beyond the tea rooms with complimentary handcrafted seasonal pastilles given to each guest upon departure,” added COMO The Treasury, Director of Food and Beverage, Steve Scaffidi.
In addition, specially curated Cape Arid Tea Blends and a CA Horizon Gin will be unveiled with the Seal Creek edition.
Cape Arid Tea Blends
The Cape Arid Rooms and Teassential have partnered to bring the essence of the finest regional flavours home. Guided by the beauty and abundance of Mother Nature’s southern-most Western Australian parklands, each of the blends, available to take-home, are inspired by the different Cape Arid Rooms afternoon tea editions.
CA Horizon Gin
Bottled by Australia’s smallest gin distillery – Esperance Distillery Co, CA Horizon Gin is inspired by Philippa Nikulinsy’s exquisite artistic expressions of the area, and the unique formulation of an exciting and vibrant recipe.
The philosophy of Cape Arid Rooms is centred upon inviting guests to embark on a culinary escapade to the deep southern Cape Arid National Park, crafted through the exquisite lens of renowned Western Australian artists, Philippa and Alex Nikulinsky.
