“The new service to Vancouver solidifies our position not only as an attractive tourist destination but also as a convenient connection to holiday destinations further afield,” Mr Viljoen added.
International travellers can enjoy additional benefits such as the My Bubble and My Island seating arrangements allowing passengers to purchase an extra seat or row in the economy for extra space and comfort.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr Andre Viljoen said the inaugural flight would generate interest ahead of the direct non-stop flights on November 25th, 2022.
Today Fiji Airways’ inaugural direct flight to Vancouver, Canada, departs Nadi International Airport at 7 pm, touching down in Vancouver at 10:45 am local time on the 9 August.
“Canadians and Australians love to travel, especially in searching for warmer weather during their winter and holiday periods. However, it is a large market, and we must make every effort possible to give our airline exposure and to capture international travellers from Canada who may not be aware that they can hop on our modern A330 aircraft and wake up in paradise.” The new route provides a seamless flight for Canadians looking to holiday in a tropical paradise and for families to visit each other.
“We are already seeing a positive response from the Canadian market with bookings confirmed from November onwards. The first flight celebrates the launch of the new direct service that will be commencing in November this year.
Flying onboard to mark the momentous occasion is a high-level VIP delegation led by Fiji’s Minister for Economy and Attorney General, Hon. Fiji is the ideal location with our tropical climate, the warmth of our people, and hospitality and service that is par excellence.” My Island comes with a mattress topper, a Business class pillow, an additional blanket and a seat belt extension. Canada marks Fiji Airways 20th destination for direct flights.
