“Italy is currently enjoying a renaissance as a tourist destination, and these additions will further integrate train travel and tourism to help encourage visitors to experience our incredible tourist destinations in a more sustainable, family-friendly way,” said Italian National Tourism Board Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Emanuele Attanasio.Termini train station in Rome showcasing the new artwork
Exploring Italy by train is now even easier – and more enjoyable – thanks to initiatives from Trenitalia and the Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT) to enhance inter-city train travel and help promote some of the country’s key tourist attractions and destinations.

Intercity trains will now feature eight artistic ‘postcards’ showcasing a range of scenic natural landscapes accessible by train, as well as a dedicated 24-seat carriage for families, featuring a stroller area, spacious bathroom with nursery area, themed tables with games for toddlers, vending machine, and stand-up area. To make family train travel even more appealing, a child aged 15 and under can travel free with a paying adult. In addition to new facilities for families, Intercity trains will now offer extra charging ports and more than 600 bicycle spaces per day to meet growing demand from locals and tourists keen to roam the Italian countryside on two wheels.
