Spread the love

Nature-lovers and anyone needing time out from life’s challenges (ie most of us) can camp in five-star style this spring at Australia’s first glamping retreat, Paperbark Camp, on the NSW South Coast, and save 35 per cent on midweek rates.

Nestled in riverside bushland at Jervis Bay, 2½ hours south of Sydney, Paperbark Camp, recently upgraded its luxe eco safari tents, with all 13 tents at the famous camp now boasting bush-view tubs and indulgent day beds.

This September and October, two-night midweek packages at the pristine retreat are available from $1270 for two people in a Deluxe Safari tent, from Sunday to Thursday nights. Rates include a gourmet three-course dinner each day in the camp’s treetop restaurant, full breakfasts, one take-away packed picnic and use of the camp’s bikes and canoes.

The complimentary picnics were introduced earlier this year, brimming with delicious wraps, trail mix, gluten-free slices and water – perfect for enjoying an alfresco lunch by the dazzling, chalk-white beaches of Jervis Bay. Guests also receive a free backpack to keep for exploration of the area’s many walking tracks.

Featuring a blend of sophistication and simplicity, Paperbark Camp opened in 1999 as Australia’s first glamping property. The camp is a luxury, eco retreat with elevated safari tents boasting polished hardwood flooring, double canvas roofs, outdoor deck seating and private open-air ensuites with premium natural toiletries where guests can enjoy nature while they bathe. The raised tents are camouflaged amongst spotted gums and paperbark trees along the banks of Currambene Creek just outside Huskisson.

The tranquil, riverside setting in the bush is home to kangaroos, possums and colourful birdlife.  The blue-sapphire waters of Jervis Bay are just minutes away as are whale and dolphin cruises.

The special midweek rates are available for two-night stays this September and October, 2022.
