The Gympie Music Muster is ready to uncover the newest crop of emerging artists in the 2022 NAB Talent Search.

The Muster Talent Search is steeped in history and has a reputation as one of the most credible platforms from which to launch your country music career.

After 30 years, it’s seen its fair share of stars take to the stage and go on to have stellar careers in country music, including Mark O’Shea from the duo O’Shea, Brooke and Sam McClymont from The McClymonts, Drew McAlister, Ruby Gilbert and Brooke Schubert.

A few former winners are even returning this year as performers in their own right including Drew in McAlister Kemp, Ruby Gilbert, Brooke Schubert and Felicity Kircher.

Finalists in this year’s talent search will travel from across Queensland and as far away as Melbourne and NSW to compete for a swag of prizes, demonstrating how sought-after this talent search is.

While the biggest prize is the boost to their burgeoning music careers, the winner will be heading off to Nashville, USA, with mentoring and performance opportunities, and industry networking sessions.

“Although the talent search is based on a competition format, it’s about every artist showcasing themselves,” NAB Talent Search co-ordinator Michael Turner said.

“We’ve seen people come second or third in talent searches and go on to have awesome careers – sometimes even bigger than the winner- simply through their talent and dedication, so we’ve arranged for every finalist to receive mentoring and distribution of their music. There will be no losers in this.”

“For the same reason, the major prizes are all focused around showcasing and nurturing the artist, including industry opportunities in Nashville for the Open winner.

Sure the first prize is really awesome, but this is our chance to get to know every artist and help them along their path.”

The Gympie Music Muster runs from Thursday, August 25 to Sunday, August 28 with finalists performing in the Semi Finals on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the Muster, while the Grand Final is on Sunday.

The 40th birthday of the Muster features ambassador Adam Brand, Lee Kernaghan, John Williamson, Troy Cassar-Daley, Beccy Cole, Casey Barnes, Shane Nicholson, Travis Collins, Fanny Lumsden, The Wolfe Brothers, Cornell & Carr, Caitlyn Shadbolt and more.
