Copper Coast Mayor Roslyn Talbot said this event brings a new and exciting elements to the experiences already on offer across our region.

“This is another reason for visitors to come to Wallaroo and experience the location South Australians named the People’s Choice Tourism Town in this year’s Top Tourism Town Awards, but also gives our local residents something new to enjoy,” Mayor Talbot said.

“What better way to enjoy Wallaroo’s breathtaking seaside views and unique offerings than with the array of live performances and different genres on offer across the town.

“This event is set to be a further boost for our economy and local businesses, and we thank Adelaide Guitar Festival and all its partners for bringing the tunes to the Copper Coast – Lifestyle Location of Choice.”

The Festival sees 75 individual artists employed to perform across 120 paid opportunities in 55 regional venues, with Adelaide Guitar Festival Artistic Director (and On the Road artist) Slava Grigoryan explaining just how valued the program was last year.

“In 2021, the overall economic benefit of On the Road to the communities exceeded $1.8 million, and on average, 24% of audiences were visitors to the regions,” Grigoryan said.

“We’re so glad to get to bring it back and expand it even further in 2022 and thank our funding partners who have enabled us to do so and to all of the communities who have welcomed us so enthusiastically—We can’t wait to visit you all in July!”

Minister for Arts, The Hon Andrea Michaels MP is proud the South Australian Government, through the Music Development Office and Events South Australia, supports Adelaide Guitar Festival’s On the Road initiative.

“On The Road also supports and builds capacity in our regional towns: it gives local and visiting artists new audience opportunities and will help develop South Australia’s regional touring circuit, which is integral to the development and employment of our talented live music artists.”
