Thredbo Resort officially opened today, treating skiers and snowboarders to the best start to the season in decades. Thanks to a huge amount of early snowfall across the mountain, the best of Thredbo’s terrain was open and groomed for guests to enjoy.Thredbo-Opening-Day_11.06.22
Thredbo’s impressive crew of 2022 Winter Olympic Ambassadors were the first ones down the mountain, with Tess Coady, Valentino Guseli, Ben Tudhope, Jarryd Hughes, Josie Baff and Abi Harrigan all meeting with guests and showing them how it’s done.
Olympic Bronze Medallist Tess Coady said “Being able to ride this much terrain on opening weekend is insane. The Bluff and Powder Bowl were almost as good as they get and the groomers like Supertrail were super fun too. You can just feel how stoked everyone is to be here.”
However, it doesn’t stop at skiing and snowboarding in Thredbo, with a full calendar of events planned throughout the winter, including live entertainment and après events, kid’s festivals and a series of unique on-mountain experiences. The opening day kicked off with a Welcome Home To Thredbo’s Winter Olympians, Illuminations & Fireworks Spectacular, Ice Carvings, Heineken Saturday ft. Set Mo at the Alpine Bar and more.
