Arts and Culture
Known as having one of the youngest populations in Europe*, it’s a home of art and culture that has tourists coming back each year. Welcoming the Birmingham 2022 Festival, where art and culture will bustle the region over six months, as the Commonwealth Games draw visitors to the region.
In addition to the Birmingham Festival, guests can marvel at the sights of the International Dance Festival in Birmingham or the mobile arts festival, Flatpack, which exists to show amazing work, bring people together and develop new ideas.
If you prefer wearable art, Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter is home to one of Europe’s largest concentrations of manufacturing jewellers and craftspeople and don’t miss the famous Bull Ring Markets, which have been at the heart of the city for more than 850 years.
Food and Entertainment
Appealing to the hearts and stomachs of foodies around Australia, Aussies can marvel in their choice between the 10 Michelin-starred restaurants or the thriving street food scene in which the region has become known.
Hotspots this season include Birmingham’s £1million ‘Instagram paradise’, by Lulu Wild. Lulu Wild offers a modern take on Chinese cuisine and a particularly theatrical cocktail list. Elsewhere, UK Masterchef The Professionals winner, Stu Deeley, has recently taken up residence within walled gardens in idyllic Hampton-in-Arden.
For the Peaky Blinder fans, the newly opened Peaky Diner is a must-visit! Inspired by the infamous criminal gang, grab a bite in this mobster-themed restaurant.

Whether it’s for the big kids or the little ones, travellers will need another holiday to get over the adventures had in the West Midlands.
