This April, a stellar line-up of Australia’s most celebrated First Nations musicians will shine bright in Burramatta at Ngana Birrung as part of Parramatta Nights.
From hip-hop to R&B and traditional dance, audiences will be treated to unforgettable performances by some of the best talent in the country under the sparkling Parramatta night sky.
“As the home of the Dharug peoples for more than 60,000 years, Parramatta is the perfect place to launch Ngana Birrung,” City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Donna Davis said.
“You don’t want to miss the chance to experience soulful performances from First Nations musicians who meld traditional elements with hip hop and R&B.”

Meaning ‘black stars’ in the Dharug language, Ngana Birrung (pronounced Nin-Gahna Bir-Rung) is a one-night only FREE First Nations hip hop festival on 3 April.
The star-studded event will showcase the inimitable talents of a selection Australia’s best hip hop and R&B musicians including: multi-award-winning rap powerhouse Briggs; Best Soul/R&B Release ARIA-Award-winner Miiesha; Triple J Unearthed Artist of the Year JK-47; and Tasmanian indie-pop and hip hop songwriter DENNI.
The evening will also feature incredible performances by community-based dance collective Jannawi Dance Clan and a high energy set behind the decks from multifaceted Melbournite Soju Gang DJ.
Attendees can also look forward to a mouth-watering selection of food and drinks from local Parramatta favourite Butter.

Parramatta’s autumn event series runs over six weeks and all events will be delivered in line with public health orders.
