The Good Food & Wine Show (GFWS), proudly presented by Citi, returns in 2022 to treat food and wine lovers
to a sensory journey of the very best produce Australia has to offer. This year marks the show’s 21st birthday with festivities kicking off in one of Australia’s most renowned culinary cities, Melbourne from June 3 – 5, closely followed by Sydney from June 24 – 26, before continuing in Perth and Brisbane later in the year.
Tickets for the Melbourne show are on sale Tuesday, March 8, revealing a three-day line up celebrating hospitality, regional producers and winemakers from popular interstate regions including Barossa, McLaren Vale, Margaret River and Clare Valley to name a few.
Featuring over 600 wines, 60 types of cheese, an exciting new line up of celebrity chefs, masterclasses, live cooking demos and more, the GFWS has something to satisfy everyone.
This year also marks more than a decade of partnership with Citi and to celebrate this milestone Citi is offering cardholders a 2 for 1 ticket offer as well as exclusive benefits at the show, such as Citi Concierge, priority entry, a free wine tasting glass (available to the first 500 Citi cardholders per day), priority access to masterclasses, cloakroom, and more.
The Citi Wall of Fortune will also be popping up for the first time at this year’s show, with hundreds of prizes up for grabs.
One of Australia’s favourite chefs, Miguel Maestre, will wow fans with his live cooking demonstrations on the brand new cooking stage; The Kitchen by Harris Scarfe.
Other top chefs demonstrating in the Kitchen by Harris Scarfe include Justine Schofield, Silvia Colloca, Analiese Gregory, Brendan Pang and Sammy Jakubiak, inspiring show-goers with their entertaining, everyday recipes to try at home.
Ever wanted to sit and watch a leading chef cooking in their kitchen, then enjoy a taste of the dish they’ve made? Just a few steps from the stage and with space for six people, The Chefs Table by Harris Scarfe is an intimate dining experience giving visitors a closer look at the chefs demonstrating their recipes, then enjoy the dishes prepared.
Wine lovers can top up their knowledge in entertaining and educational tastings in The RIEDEL Drinks Lab, run by GFWS resident wine expert Nick Ryan where sessions include ‘Sink the Pink’ – and ‘Let’s get Fizzical’.
All wines featured in these sessions are available to purchase from the exhibitors on the show floor.
For those looking for something a little more personalised, the Wine Selectors Tasting Room has four separate spaces for a more intimate wine tasting experience paired with food, including sessions about ontrend wines to picking the perfect dinner party wine.
Serious wine drinkers can enjoy all this and more, with a new Wine Lovers ticket presented by Vintec, which includes access to new releases and back-vintages, a premium RIEDEL Magnum tasting glass, complimentary bottle of Yarra Valley Boat O’Craigo Braveheart Cabernet Sauvignon courtesy of Wine Selectors, a wine guide and more.
Cheese lovers can join The Smelly Cheese Project as they guide aspiring curd-nerds through artisanal cheese masterclasses, including Australian and international cheese varieties, then sample their way down Cheese Lane; cheddar to truffle, Brie to dairy-free, there’s something for everyone.
Spirit fans can head to the never-seen-before Spirit Fleet, where they can step on board the Glenfiddich Whisky Wanderer vintage double decker bus for a whisky tasting, sip and sample gin at the Hendricks Cucumber Airstream, or if Scotch is more your tipple, the Monkey Shoulder Shaker (a full-size cement mixer cocktail shaker!).
Morning tea anyone? Experience the best of British and enjoy a traditional morning or afternoon tea at the English Garden, with a selection of the finest UK cheeses from Somerdale, scones, cream and Tiptree Jams.
Still hungry? Visit the Good Food Village, a destination for visitors to try and buy artisan products from small producers across Australia. The market style hub has everything from truffles, small-batch honey to hemp
products and more.
Luxury seekers will not be disappointed either, with the exclusive Margaret River VIP Lounge providing a break from the show floor with an exclusive chef-designed menu, paired with premium Margaret River wines!
