Think Inc. is proud to present the world-renowned Australian moral philosopher Peter Singer, live on stage in March and April 2022. All profits from the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane events will be donated to The Life You Can Save to aid their efforts to alleviate global poverty.  On tour, Peter will give insight into his unique journey as “the most influential living moral philosopher” and “the most dangerous man in the world”, as well as exploring topics like animal welfare, effective altruism, free speech, and mandatory vaccinations through a utilitarian lens.

Since the 1970s Peter’s work has been guided by the same idea – “If it is in our power to prevent something bad from happening, without thereby sacrificing anything of comparable moral importance, we ought, morally, to do it.” – and over five decades he’s inspired countless others to share the same view.

In 1975 his book Animal Liberation paved the way for the animal rights movement, motivating millions to care about the suffering of animals, something that is common today but was almost unheard of at that time. In 2009 his guide to ending world poverty, The Life You Can Save, sparked the global Effective Altruism movement, helping everyday people and the mega-rich support truly worthy causes. In 2021 he co-founded The Journal of Controversial Ideas, an answer to echo chambers and cancel culture stifling rational discourse.

Lauded internationally for his brilliant mind, Peter was awarded the $1 million Berggruen Prize in 2021 for his invaluable contribution to philosophy, which he donated to a handful of effective charities.

The event will be hosted by Josh Szeps, a television and radio broadcaster who shakes up the status quo with his fierce intellect and infectious sense of humour.
