New Spirit of TasmaniaToday marks the official start of construction of Spirit of Tasmania IV with the first cutting of steel and the reveal of the ship’s new livery.  She will measure over 212 metres, with space for up to 1,800 passengers, featuring 12 deluxe cabins, 2 family suites, 120 porthole cabins, 159 inside cabins, eight accessible cabins with an interconnecting cabin, 301 total cabins.
With innovative interiors, superb facilities and increased capacity for passengers and vehicles, the arrival of Spirit of Tasmania IV and Spirit of Tasmania V will mark the beginning of a new era of sea travel across the Bass Strait.New Spirit of Tasmania

The arrival of the replacement ferry in late 2023 will mark the beginning of a new era of sea travel across the Bass Strait, shaped by innovative interiors, superb facilities and increased capacity for both passenger, passenger vehicles and freight, the company says.  “In spring 2022 we will move from Station Pier, Port Melbourne and transfer to Corio Quay, Geelong, where a new state-of-the-art terminal will come to life.
The brand-new, purpose-designed terminal will be fitted with cutting-edge technology and exceptional facilities for an enhanced travel experience. The terminal will offer easy access and ample parking, undercover areas for vehicles, seamless boarding and security processes, comfortable and accessible passenger lounges with a café and children’s play area.”
