Melco Resorts & Entertainment’s Simple Acts of Kindness 2.0 initiative continues to bring warmth and care to the local community in Macau. Over the past 4 months, 400 Melco volunteer participants have dedicated more than 1,030 hours to helping nearly 1,400 local children and youth beneficiaries through over 30 targeted activities.
In events titled ‘Adopt a Children’s Home’, the Melco team carried out interior and exterior enhancement works for children and youth homes in the community, painting and decorating walls together with the young beneficiaries with aim to bring joyfulness into their daily lives. Melco management executives including Mr. Toby Ryan, Vice President, Security Operations, Ms. Bonnie Tam, Executive Director of Resort Sales & Marketing and Ms. Jenny Ip, Director, Strategy and Analytics, led volunteers to visit Macau Caritas Arco-Iris Youth Home, Mong-Ha Children and Youth Home, Sheng Kung Hui Star of Hope Youth Home and Concordia School for Special Education.
Mr. Toby Ryan, Vice President, Security Operations, said, “It was great to come with the Melco volunteer team to Mong-Ha Children and Youth Home to help the kids decorate the walls. It has been fantastic to get together with the local children in activities that make them realize people care about them. Melco’s Simple Acts of Kindness activities allows the kids to feel good to have attention from us while enabling us, the volunteers, to feel good too.”
Melco volunteers also participated in Simple Acts of Kindness 2.0 Lunar New Year celebrations with the local youth and children. Aiming to satisfy the children’s dreams for a festive meal during the season for reunion and gathering, volunteers shared traditional Chinese poon choi together with the children of Sheng Kung Hui Star of Hope Youth Home and Escola de S. Jose Ka Ho. Other teams visited Mong-Ha Children and Youth Home, baking Chinese New Year cookies together and introducing the traditional foods while the kids enjoyed their company and the festive atmosphere. Arts and craft sessions were also hosted, with volunteers working with kids to make new year red packets.
