travel managementATPI Australia, a part of The ATPI Group, a global leader in travel management and events, today announces the acquisition of The Travel Authority Group.
The strategic takeover follows the previous acquisitions of Melbourne based Voyager Travel Corporation (2014) and Plan B Travel (2016) as well as Business World Travel in Auckland (2017).
Expansion of ATPI’s footprint in the Australasian corporate travel market further strengthens its position as a specialist travel management company for corporate travel and the local and global marine and energy industries.
The Travel Authority Group, an independent agency group with offices in Sydney and Perth, was founded by Peter Hosper and Sarah Bush. It has developed its business over two decades and across two states to become an expert in corporate, marine, leisure and event travel.
Following the acquisition, the team and management of The Travel Authority will transfer to ATPI, who are committed to retaining and growing the number of employees. It will be business as usual for existing clients, with key relationships continuing as the business builds on the customer offering with a combination of expertise and experience
Peter Muller, Regional Managing Director Australasia and Africa, commented:
“Alongside organic sales growth, the acquisition of The Travel Authority is an opportunity for ATPI to grow its business and customer base in Australia, particularly in the corporate heartland of NSW and essential services sector in WA. The Travel Authority is a good fit for ATPI and offers significant synergies and a respected and experienced management team. We are very pleased to welcome The Travel Authority team to ATPI.”
Peter Hosper, CEO of The Travel Authority, added:
“Joining ATPI made sense. Their pedigree, particularly in the marine industry, and their sophisticated global solution for mining and resource companies, was of great interest. We are looking forward to joining the ATPI team and further developing the brand in the Australasia region.”
ATPI will retain the Sydney office of The Travel Authority and continue to operate from Melbourne and Perth offices.
The ATPI Group operates from 100+ offices worldwide. It has successful operations in corporate travel, corporate event management, online travel technology and specialist travel management for key industries, including the energy and shipping sectors.
