The Other House, opening early summer 2022 in Harrington Gardens, is just a stone’s throw from the bustle of South Kensington’s Gloucester Road. The area has long awaited a hub – a destination where the local community can meet, eat and drink in glamorous, yet approachable surroundings – reflecting the needs and personalities of locals who call this diverse pocket of London home. Introducing ‘The Other Kitchen’ – a vibrant and chic all-day street café and ‘The Owl & Monkey’ – a new destination cocktail bar, both with a firm commitment to sustainability and great experiences.
The Other Kitchen
The Other Kitchen is a 54 cover, all-day street café, open to both residents of
The Other House and the local neighbourhood. Overlooking Harrington Gardens, it strikes a balance of informality and glamour with its bold design and signature approach to constantly changing meat, fish and vegan ‘pots du jours’.
With dishes designed by the acclaimed Asimakis Chaniotis (London’s youngest Michelin-starred Chef) and kitchens led by Head Chef Gary White (of Somerset House and
The Landmark Hotel Restaurant), the focus is on sustainability, freshness and big flavour. Menus have been especially created to be vegan and vegetarian inclusive.
Breakfast will see a selection of homemade pastries, artisanal breads, healthful breakfast pots and made-to-order poached eggs with a selection of sides, as well as the trademark Other Kitchen Toasted Panini – all available for dine in, ‘grab and go’ or ‘click and collect’ via the super-intuitive Other House App.
Made from their low-waste kitchen (meaning get it whilst you can!), lunch will offer an evolving seasonal menu of signature one-pot dishes, soup du jours and salads, along with sides.
In the afternoon The Other Kitchen becomes a place to meet or work and features a light menu of drinks, coffee selected from the best beans and homemade cakes. On selected evenings, the space will further transform and play host to a series of members’ and invite-only supper clubs, along with celebrity chef pop-up restaurants open to everyone..
For those looking to gather in private, The Mervyn Peake and Francis Bacon rooms, both named after local residents of note, will offer private dining for up to ten and menus curated with Head Chef Gary for something entirely unique.
The Owl & Monkey
Stirring up the South Kensington cocktail scene, The Owl & Monkey, will open daily from 6pm until late, and be THE stand-out, go-to destination bar in the neighbourhood. Featuring dramatically flamboyant interiors alongside tree top views over a stunning internal glazed courtyard, the design is only to rivalled by the signature cocktails created by Head Barman, Flavio Russo, and his expert team of mixologists.
In addition to The Owl & Monkey signature cocktails, there will be a selection of classics as well as sharing plates to compliment your drink of choice (think Padron peppers, croquettes and chorizo). All set to the backdrop of curated playlists or live DJ’s taking you from early evening to late at night.
