Hilton Surfers Paradise is celebrating today, after being awarded Best Redeveloped Hotel at the 2021 Australian Hotels Association (AHA) National Awards for Excellence, at the annual awards presentation dinner held on
February 7, 2022, in Hobart, Tasmania. Renowned for being Australia’s most prestigious hotel accolades, the awards drew a crowd of over 500+ attendees from around the nation, who gathered in acknowledgement of the enormous challenges the industry has faced over the past few years, and to celebrate resilience and the achievements of the industry’s finest.
The highly anticipated awards night was the largest the industry has hosted in the past few years – a major milestone in the march toward normality.
The prestigious award for Best Hotel Redevelopment was received in recognition of the hotel’s $9million makeover, which saw the addition of nine new guest rooms and suites, the unveiling of a new full-service Executive Lounge, expansion of conference facilities, and a reinvented lobby complete with a new cocktail bar, all-day dining area, and exhibition gallery.
In addition, the major refurbishment welcomed the implementation of contactless arrival with Digital Key for guest rooms, and digital food & beverage ordering from poolside, in-room, and within the outlets.
Fiona Pryde, general manager, Hilton Surfers Paradise, said that despite challenging trading conditions amidst the pandemic, the hotel is very fortunate of their owner, Dr Jerry Schwartz, for his continued support in the hotel’s redevelopment.
“Renovating the entire ground floor during the COVID-19 pandemic created a sense of optimism within the team during challenging times. It also gave the hotel something new and exciting for our loyal guests to experience once interstate travel resumed.”
Pryde added, “The AHA Awards for Excellence are acclaimed for shining a spotlight on the Hotel industry and we are grateful to be recognized among the many talented people and great hotels that make up the outstanding and resilient Australian Hotel Industry.”
