AIDA Cruises, Carnival Corporation’s German brand has taken delivery this week of its newest cruise ship, the AIDAcosma, in Bremerhaven from the Meyer Werft shipyard.AIDAcosma is the company’s second newbuild powered by liquefied natural gas and is AIDA’s 14th ship, entering service in the first quarter 2022, sailing from Hamburg on seven-day metropolis voyages.
Champion athlete Kristina Vogel will christen her on April 9, 2022, before she sails on a two-week christening voyage to either Mallorca or Barcelona with further highlights including Lisbon, Cadiz and Malaga as the ship moves to the Mediterranean for the summer season.
From April 23 to October 15, 2022, AIDAcosma will offer voyages from Palma and Barcelona, with the “Mediterranean Treasures” itinerary also including calls into Florence, Rome and Corsica.
The AIDAcosma will then move to Dubai for the winter 2022-2023 season.
