Virgin Australia has ended its codeshare arrangement with Delta and announced United Airlines will be its new partner on the North American route from April next year.
According to Virgin CEO Jayne Hrdlicka, not only is United a fantastic brand fit for Virgin Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer, but the carrier offers the most flights between Australia and North America of any US-based carrier. “The partnership will triple our network reach into the Americas, which means new destinations when flying from Australia to the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and South America,” she said.United Airlines
“As United ramps up more services to Australia next year, the carrier will continue to offer direct flights between Melbourne and Sydney and Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston.”
