Fiji has announced the success of their vaccination roll out, with 90 per cent of their eligible population fully vaccinated, ensuring further protection for the country as they prepare to open their borders.

After almost 20 months of border closures, Fiji, its resorts, attractions and people are preparing to open their arms to travellers from several Travel Partner countries on December 1st.

Brent Hill, Tourism Fiji CEO said that vaccination was a public health investment and to achieve nearly full herd immunity was a milestone for any country and put Fiji in a strong position to reopen in December.

“From airline to accommodation, the Fijian tourism industry has worked hard to ensure the safety of all patrons and helped steer an operational shift to COVID-safety. We are committed to safe, seamless travel and to date, have over 500 tourism operators registered with CFC and more than 240 tourism properties that will be CFC -certified,” Hill added.

Via the Care Fiji Commitment (CFC) Programme, tourism operators have established globally benchmarked COVID-safety practices that are approved by the World Health Organisation and recognised by the World Travel and Tourism Council.

All staff withing CFC resorts, experiences, transport businesses and activities will be 100% vaccinated and will have a dedicated Wellness Ambassador rolling out these practices and ensuring the safety of Fijis locals and its visitors.

Not only does this vaccination milestone ensure further protection for its locals, it creates another layer of confidence for travellers around the globe, preparing for their idyllic nation holiday.
