Outrigger Hospitality Group today announced two management appointments at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa – the 22-acre oceanfront property on Hawai‘i Island that is slated to re-open under the Outrigger brand in late August.
Seasoned hospitality executive, Steve Solberg will be the resort’s general manager and Christine San Nicolas, who has been with Outrigger for more than two decades, will be director of human resources.
Mr. Steve Solberg will be re-joining the Outrigger team where he recently held the position of general manager at Outrigger Guam Beach Resort for nearly six years. Before Guam he lived in Missouri where he was GM of the Renaissance Grand St. Louis. Prior to that, he spent seven years with PCH Hotels and Resorts, the leading management company for full-service Marriott hotel products, as chief executive officer. Steve has also been GM and chief operating officer at Grand Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa in Point Clear, Alabama, and GM at the Embassy Suites Hotel in New York City. His career highlights also include GM positions with Promus Hotels and The Kimpton Hotel Group.
Ms. Christine San Nicolas was director of human resources (HR) at Outrigger Guam Beach Resort since 2016 and last year moved to O‘ahu as senior director – human resources, in Outrigger’s corporate office. Before moving to the HR department, she was a director of finance for Outrigger.
