A huge increase in UK domestic travel in 2020 has led Exodus Travels to add 27 new self-guided trips to its range, available for booking by Australian travellers for 2022.
Expanding its coverage of the UK, new regions have been added including Cornwall, Bath, Norfolk, Pembrokeshire, North Wales and Northern Ireland as well as new linear trips from Oxford to Bath, along the Thames Path, the Cotswold Way and Wainwright’s famous Coast to Coast route.
Australian travellers can already book 2022 trips and take advantage of the Book with Confidence* guarantee, which gives them both flexibility and financial security, should plans have to change.
All of Exodus self-guided trips have no fixed departure dates, giving customers the freedom and flexibility to go at their own pace but with the knowledge that they are fully supported, and luggage is transferred as necessary. Accommodation is carefully chosen by the local team and includes B&Bs, guesthouses, pubs and small hotels.
Exodus General Manager Australasia Lou Day said “we know Aussies love to travel independently in the UK and see this as a perfect opportunity for them to do so with Exodus self-guided once international travel reopens again. Whilst Norfolk & Cornwall trips have proved especially popular with the UK Domestic market, we expect that our Australian travellers may also love our Oxford & Bath cycling trip passing through classic Cotswold villages or the famous Coast to Coast walk which many already have on their bucket list. The one I’d personally love to do is ‘Walking the Antrim Way’ in Ireland and I can’t wait to have the opportunity to get over there myself.”
Here are five of the new UK self-guided holidays for Aussies to enjoy in 2022:
OXFORD TO BATH CYCLE
From Oxford, home to the oldest university in England, the cycle route travels first along the Oxford Canal and then between the villages of the southern Cotswolds to Bath, with its Roman baths and stunning Georgian architecture. The route passes through some of the best of the Cotswold villages including Minster Lovell with its Cotswold stone and thatched cottages on the River Windrush, the medieval town of Burford and Bibury, ‘the most beautiful village in England’ according to William Morris.
Exodus Travels eight-night self-guided Oxford to Bath Cycle is from $3449 per person including accommodation with breakfast daily, bike hire, GPS rout e maps and navigation app, luggage transfers and services of a local representative.
CONTRASTS OF NORFOLK CYCLING
The North Norfolk coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and this new cycling holiday takes in both the country and coastal scenery. The trip includes time at RSPB Titchwell and the seals at Blakeney, as well as visits to Sandringham and the gardens of the historical manor houses of Holkham and Houghton Hall. Three nights are spent in Holt, a Georgian market town as a base to explore the coast and reach the Norfolk Broads.
Exodus Travels seven-night self-guided Contrasts of Norfolk Cycling holiday is from $2479 per person including accommodation with breakfast daily, bike hire, GPS route maps and navigation app, luggage transfers and services of a local representative.
PEMBROKE TO AMROTH WALK
The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path stretches 299km along the South Wales coastline from St Dogmaels in the north to Amroth in the south. 2022 will be the 70th anniversary of the area being designated a national park with the path itself Wales’ first national trail when it opened in 1970.
This linear walking holiday follows the southernmost section of the Pembrokeshire Coast path, starting in the historic town of Pembroke. From here it follows undulating clifftop trails with far reaching sea vistas, passing distinctive natural rock formations, and traversing some of Wales’ prettiest bays and sweeping sandy beaches on the way to Amroth.
Exodus Travels seven-night self-guided Pembroke to Amroth Walk is from $1949 per person including accommodation with breakfast daily, maps, luggage transfers and services of a local representative.
WALKING CORNWALL’S NORTH COAST: PADSTOW TO PERRANPORTH
This self-guided walk explores the magnificent coast between two of Cornwall’s most famous summer getaways, Padstow and Perranporth. From headland to cove and on to golden sands, the scenery changes as fast as the weather but the shorter daily distances give plenty of time to soak up the views of the wild rocky coastline.
Exodus Travels five-night self-guided Walking Cornwall’s North Coast: Padstow to Perranporth tour is from $1779 per person including accommodation with breakfast daily, maps, luggage transfers and services of a local representative.
WALKING THE ANTRIM WAY
Exodus Travels self-guided walk along part of the Antrim Way explores one of the most beautiful sections of Ireland’s northern coast. Boasting the fabulous Glens of Antrim, the magnificent Giant’s Causeway, and the Carrick-a-Rede bridge, the trail passes rugged and windswept cliffs, spectacular scenery, and fabulous unspoiled beaches. The trip finishes in Bushmills where you can pay a visit to the world-famous Bushmills distillery.
Exodus Travels four-night self-guided Walking the Antrim Way is from $1449 per person including accommodation with breakfast daily, maps, luggage transfers and services of a local representative.
