Just in time for the start of the summer holidays, Austrian Airlines is expanding the digital verification of corona-related travel documents. This service has been available for flights to Germany, Greece and Spain since April. The online document verification is now also available for Egypt, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine. Furthermore, the service can now be used not only for scheduled flights but also for Austrian Holidays flights.
Many countries currently require a valid negative Covid-19 test, an online entry declaration or a Passenger Locator Form to enter the country. In order to keep the time spent at the airport as short as possible, to enable a faster check-in and to give passengers the certainty that all entry requirements are met before they start their journey, the online document verification is the ideal solution for a relaxed and safe start to their holiday.
Fast, easy and digital: upload and have documents checked before you travel
Passengers should inform themselves about the entry requirements before travelling. The new interactive world map from Austrian Airlines provides helpful support and an overview of entry restrictions and quarantine-free travel. Passengers can then voluntarily upload the required documents via our portal up to twelve hours before departure for scheduled flights and 48 hours before departure at the earliest for Austrian Holidays flights. These will be checked by the Health Entry Support Center for completeness and correctness. The passenger will be notified by email no later than four hours before departure whether the documents submitted are valid. If they are incomplete or invalid, you will also receive a response and must submit any missing documents at boarding.
Regardless of the confirmation, passengers must have the original documents with them on the trip. Information on which national and international airports Covid-19 tests are available for the return journey can be found on the Austrian Airlines website. The online document verification is available at www.austrian.com/at/en/online-document-verification.
