Focused on its ongoing responsibility to support micro-enterprises in Macau, Melco Resorts & Entertainment has further launched its Adopt a Micro-Enterprise program. Adopt a Micro-Enterprise has been developed to support local micro-enterprises and youth entrepreneurs — as a platform to contribute and provide expertise, knowledge and skillsets by leveraging Melco expertise and colleagues from various disciplines and professions. Adopt a Micro-Enterprise is co-organized with Junior Chamber International (JCI) Macao, China, Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre (MYEIC) and supported by Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM).
Adopt a Micro-Enterprise’s kick-off event was hosted on June 22 with the program’s first assessment committee meet up. The committee met with six selected micro-enterprises nominated by JCI and MYEIC – identifying challenges faced by the said businesses and suggesting ideas for improvement and enhancement. In the coming two months, the six micro-enterprises will each be paired with a mentorship department at Melco to match with the nature of its business and area of expertise to uncover further development opportunities.
Adopt a Micro-Enterprise’s assessment committee members include Mr. Raymond Lo, Senior Vice President, Property General Manager, Altira and Mocha Clubs, Melco Resorts & Entertainment; Ms. Monica Ng, Executive Director of Supply Chain, Melco Resorts & Entertainment; Mr. Kevin Ng, 2021 National Vice President – Community Development of JCI Macao, China; Mr. Carlos Lam Ka-Vai, CEO of MYEIC; and Ms. Helena Lei, Senior Manager, Standards, Management, Training & Assessment of Macau Productivity & Technology Transfer Center.
