To help meet growing, pent up demand for cruising in years ahead, the American Queen Steamboat Company (AQSC) has fast-tracked the release of the 2023 program of its famous paddlewheeler river cruises in America – the earliest the famous cruise line has released a program in advance.
Savings of up to US$2000 per couple are available for bookings made by December 31, 2021, through AQSC’s Australian representative and small ship specialist, Cruise Traveller.
To add to the value, all the new cruises will feature a host of complimentary inclusions such as onboard beverages all day, one-night, pre-cruise hotel stay, hotel-ship transfers, hop-on-hop-off shore excursions, prepaid gratuities and specialty coffees, soft drinks and bottled water onboard the river ship.
The new 2023 program for AQSC features 168 cruises on five of America’s most iconic rivers – The Mississippi, Ohio River, Tennessee River, Snake River and Columbia River. The 2023 season will also feature AQSC’s new, 245-passenger paddlewheeler, the American Countess, which has just debuted this year. She will join American Queen, American Duchess and American Empress to treat guests with an authentic, elegant and modern American river cruise experience.
A range of themed cruises are also planned for 2023 including departure focusing on the Kentucky Derby, local cuisine, the Civil War, Thanksgiving, News Year’s Eve, craft and the music that river towns like Memphis, New Orleans and Nashville gave birth to such as the blues, jazz, rock’n’roll and country music.
One of AQSC’s most popular cruise itineraries for Australians is its classic, seven-night paddlewheeler journey along the legendary Mississippi River between Memphis and New Orleans. Reflecting the colourful history, culture and music of heartland America, the cruise brings to life the scenery and river life made famous by author, Mark Twain in books like ‘Huckleberry Finn’.
The Mississippi journey also celebrates the music, southern belles and drawls, majestic colonial mansions, cotton plantations, Civil War battlefields, the Southern hospitality and the Cajun and Creole cuisine that the Mississippi riverlands are famous for – as well the iconic Graceland home of Elvis, the ‘king of rock’n’roll’.
The American Queen Steamboat Company is offering an eight-night package in 2023 that includes a seven-night cruise between New Orleans and Memphis, one night’s accommodation pre-cruise, onboard beverages, guided, hop-on-hop-off shore excursions and onboard gratuities.
The package in 2023 is available from US$2235 per person, twin-share (February 12, 2023 departure aboard American Queen) in an interior cabin – a saving of US$300 per person while an Open Veranda stateroom is available from US$3635 per person, twin-share – a saving of US$1000 each
