Niccolo Suzhou has officially opened at the top of the majestic new super-skyscraper, Suzhou International Finance Square (IFS).

Soaring 450-metres into the clouds, IFS is hailed as The Beacon of the Future, with a striking fish tail profile symbolising longevity and prosperity for the fabled city.

At its pinnacle, Niccolo Suzhou is the iconic landmark’s crowning glory and most eagerly-anticipated luxury hotel to open in China this year.

Niccolo Suzhou’s opening was celebrated on 1 April, 2021 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and auspicious Lion Dance attended by 80 VIP guests and media – becoming the fifth member of Wharf Hotels’ growing portfolio of Niccolo Hotels.

Taking inspiration from luxury fashion, Niccolo Hotels spearheads contemporary chic design and experiences. Niccolo Suzhou joins Niccolo’s portfolio of stylish hotels in key gateway cities across China including Chengdu, Chongqing, Changsha and Hong Kong, where they have been hosting Captains of Industry and Leaders in Style since the luxury group’s inception in 2015. Niccolo Suzhou promises to elevate this extraordinary collection of hotels to ever-greater heights.

Niccolo Suzhou General Manager Carlo Schmed said: “This unique new address embodies Niccolo’s key signatures and will help us to change the landscape of the city’s business as an all-week destination. Even before opening, Niccolo Suzhou was the ‘talk of the town’. We now look forward to not only meeting but exceeding the greatest expectations at the city’s most sophisticated and stylish new address.”

Known as the ‘Venice of the East’ for its UNESCO World Heritage-listed canals, stone bridges, pagodas and classical gardens, Suzhou is one of China’s top tourist attractions. The city is connected to Shanghai by high-speed train which takes only 25 minutes. ‘Niccolo Insiders’ guides guests to explore its unique places of interest, along with in-the-know shopping, individually tailored to personal preferences.

Member of CPC working committee and Vice Chairman of SIPAC, Ms Xiaomei Liu, said: “IFS is a majestic Beacon of the Future for our city, inspiring us all to look forward with optimism and confidence – and Niccolo Suzhou magnificently elevates our reputation both as a ‘must visit’ luxury destination and as a hub for 21st century industry, business and commerce in modern China.”

With commanding panoramic views over neighbouring Jinji Lake and the Suzhou skyline, the hotel’s 233 spacious rooms and suites boast sumptuous linen bedding, as well as spa-inspired marble bathrooms featuring luxurious Lorenzo Villoresi amenities.

Niccolo’s signature ‘Art of Dining’ is showcased at the destination restaurant, Niccolo Kitchen, which presents a ‘culinary theatre’ of authentic western and oriental cuisine, from power breakfasts and elite business lunches to celebrations and gastronomic culinary journeys.

The Tea Lounge reflects Niccolo’s passion for fashion and style, with contemporary art, stylish furniture and Be Niccolo service creating individual experiences for guests. Reflecting on tradition but in a highly contemporary environment, Afternoon Tea is a highlight of any visit to Niccolo Suzhou.

With live entertainment by international DJs and artists, Bar 115 is destined to become a magnet for the early adopters and style-conscious of the city. A focus on Niccolo Nights will create unique, creative experiences for those looking to relax in the ambience of the bar.

The Niccolo Room, the hotel’s state-of-the-art event space, along with The Conservatory, offers flexible meeting space for large or small events, including memorable fashion shows, product launches and inspirational presentations. Among unforgettable ‘Occasions in Style’ curated by dedicated ambassadors, personalised weddings promise impeccable organisation, décor, as well as customised menus and cakes.

For rest and relaxation, the Sky Pool & Jacuzzi on the 117th floor is an unforgettable sky-high experience, with state-of-the-art fitness training and workouts at Sky Studio and Sky Gym.

Niccolo Suzhou’s prized IFS address is designed by internationally-renowned architects Kohn Pederson Fox, whose iconic global landmarks include Lotte World Tower in Seoul, Shanghai World Financial Centre and Hong Kong’s International Commerce Centre. Interior designs are by global hospitality leader HBA and reflect Niccolo’s understated sophistication.

IFS is located at the hub of Suzhou’s ‘green’ centre of commerce, business, conferences and expos, Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), amid Singapore-inspired urban planning of tree-lined boulevards, classical landscaped gardens, lakes and waterways.

Niccolo Suzhou is the new destination for Captains of Industry and Leaders in Style, with the IFS lauded as the Beacon of the Future for this great city.
