EVA Air and Evergreen Airline Services Corp. (EGAS) both earned certification from the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA’s) Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma). This certification verifies the highest standards in EVA’s and EGAS’s cold chain air and ground service operations at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). It also distinguishes EVA as one of the few airlines in the world to have obtained certification for air and ground handling operations simultaneously, strengthening its position as one of the leading global one-stop cold chain pharmaceutical product carriers.
EVA and EGAS have gained deep experience in transportation and storage of high-tech and pharmaceutical supplies over many years and, at the same time, grown an average of 30% annually. EVA has reliably carried everything from wafer products that require shock-resistant containment and constant temperature control to vaccine shipments that must be kept as cold as -80°C within a certain humidity range for as long as 144 hours and continually monitored. Complementing its Boeing 777 freighters, EVA expands its airfreight capacity and network reach by using belly holds on passenger aircraft, including Boeing 777-300ERs, 787s and Airbus 330-300s.
EGAS is the only airline services operator in Taiwan to be awarded IATA CEIV Pharma certification. EGAS introduced cold chain transportation capabilities for pharmaceutical logistics services in 2018. IATA’s certification validates EGAS’ expertise and efficiency. It not only fulfills EVA’s cold chain transportation requirements but it also offers its services to other airlines operating to/from TPE.
IATA has led the industry to establish a certified pharmaceutical transportation network that meets consistent standards and assures product integrity. EVA’s and EGAS’s IATA CEIV Pharma certifications enhance the images of both companies, inspire customers’ trust and help advance COVID-19 vaccine delivery services globally.
