With Australia showing no signs of easing international border closures, Outback Queensland is
calling for travellers to venture to the incredible slice of the Sunshine State as it officially launches its 2021 tourism season, on Monday, February 22nd at Outback Queensland Tourism Association’s Outback Muster event.Unveiling the region’s 2021 Drive Outback Queensland Guide full of unmissable experiences and
twelve tailored road trip itineraries, Outback Queensland is mustering up new and returning
travellers with the promise there is something on offer for everyone in our backyard – from
family friendly fossil adventures to luxury stays.

Spanning 932,678km square (two thirds of the state), Outback Queensland is on a mission to
educate Aussies that the region has a lot to offer and can be explored throughout the year, with
the Drive Guide showcasing the extended season, eye-opening adventures, rich cultural
experiences, beautiful landscapes, natural wonders, indulgent retreats, and world class outback
events topped with a generous serving of country hospitality.

Taking the stage at the 2021 Outback Muster and Drive Guide Launch event on Monday, CEO,
Denise Brown welcomed the launch of the Drive Guide to coincide with the extended tourism
season.

“It has been a great summer for those in the Outback with the summer rains breathing even
more life to the region, bringing along the spectacular Outback Queensland birdlife and
wildflowers that truly are a sight to behold,” said Denise Brown.

“From unbeatable bakeries to coffee that’d give your suburban local a run for its money,
Outback Queensland has a lot on offer, and we are looking forward to showcasing it to the rest
of the state.”

Chairman of the Outback Queensland Tourism Association and Blackall-Tambo Regional Council
Mayor, Andrew Martin, echoed Ms Brown’s sentiment, stating Outback Queensland is steeped in
natural beauty and hidden gem hotspots ready for travellers to discover a host of the state’s best
kept secrets.

“We are excited to launch the Outback Queensland Drive Guide alongside the launch of this
year’s tourism season. We hope the guide not only inspires new visitors but educates returning
travellers on the abundance of experiences on offer in the Outback,” said Andrew Martin.
“If you are looking for a family-friendly road trip, The Australian Dinosaur Trail presents
unbeatable prehistoric discoveries. Many don’t realise the Outback has some of the best
dinosaur experiences in the world, and the only region in Australia to showcase the ancient
creatures!

“If chasing your next adventure, Windorah’s International Yabby Race or a visit to Queensland’s
most remote pub in Middleton to wet your whistle are certainly experiences to add to the
bucket list.

“Fancy a luxury getaway? Look no further than Mitchell Grass Retreat, Saltbush Retreat or Moble
Homestead, offering all the creature comforts you could want. With so many incredible
experiences on offer, it is impossible to just do one trip.

“With International borders closed for the foreseeable future, Outback Queensland is calling on
Aussies to this year explore the roads less travelled – it’s time to immerse in nature, soak up
some fresh country air, Outback baths, and experience the nostalgia with the locals”, he said.

Hosted by the Outback Queensland Tourism Association, the Outback Muster and Drive Guide
