Forever Resorts announces its contract with the National Park Service to operate Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim will continue through 2023.
The Scottsdale, Arizona-based National Park Service concessioner has operated the historic lodge since 2008, when it was awarded a 10-year long contract to manage marketing and bookings for the lodge, its restaurant, gift shop and other amenities. Its contract was last renewed in 2020.
As a part of this scenic spot since 1928, the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim, open seasonally from May 15 – Oct. 15, sits just above the canyon with a variety of cabin and motel room choices and dining options. Sitting at an elevation of more than 8,000 feet, the comparatively tranquil North Rim gets just one-tenth of the visitation of the South Rim and is known for its recreational activities including hiking trails, mule rides and exploring the local flora and fauna.
The gift shop and the dining room will be open next season. The dining room will offer limited seating at all times. For breakfast, it will offer a served breakfast buffet with an egg station. Reservations will be required for dinner service. In addition, the deli will be open from 5 a.m. – 9 p.m. for grab-and-go items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Grab-and-go breakfast options will include baked goods, breakfast burritos and barrista-brewed coffees; lunch and dinner options will include salads, pizzas and sandwiches.
“Operating this historic lodge amidst the tranquil splendor of the Grand Canyon’s North Rim represents a distinct privilege,” said John Schoppmann, executive vice president, Forever Resorts, the concessioner operating Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim. “We look forward to welcome visitors from around the world in the coming years.”
