Passenger flights can resume from Zurich and Geneva to the United Kingdom and South Africa from 00:00 on Thursday 24 December, the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation has ruled. But the corresponding return flights to Switzerland will only be available to Swiss and Liechtenstein nationals and the holders of certain resident statuses in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

SWISS will remain in close contact with the Swiss federal authorities to ensure smooth flight operations over the next few days. SWISS is currently operating flights to London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Manchester in the UK and to Johannesburg in South Africa. Services to these countries will resume as planned from 24 December. For further information on the applicable travel and immigration provisions, customers are asked to contact the relevant authorities.

All SWISS travellers continue to enjoy flexible rebooking options. Full details of these and more will be found at https://www.swiss.com/ch/en/various/travel-safely
