Not surprisingly at such a challenging time, especially for cruise companies and especially the biggest, Carnival Corporation, which it appears has taken the opportunity to shake up some of its senior corporate team.
A key change has been that Jan Swartz has been appointed Group President of Holland America Group, in a massive role, now responsible for Princess Cruises, Holland America Line (HAL), Seabourn and P&O Australia divisions, plus Holland America’s Princess Alaska Tours.
In 2016, Swartz became Group President of Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia, with executive oversight of the P&O Cruises Australia brand, with President and CEO of Carnival Corporation Arnold Donald saying she is someone who will bring a wealth of leadership experience to the new position, adding, “Jan is a highly respected executive and a role model and she is a champion of innovation and a proven leader”.
The move does not appear to bring any major changes to Australia’s executive structure, with Sture Myrmell remaining responsible for Carnival Australia and P&O Cruises brands in the region.
