The Galt House Hotel – the iconic riverfront hotel in downtown Louisville – invites travelers, road-trippers, locals and bourbon-enthusiasts alike to embrace the southern flavors of Kentucky through the eyes of popular regional chefs with its new “Bourbon Chef Series.”

Debuting on October 21, the rotating series will showcase top regional chefs, who will collaborate with The Galt House’s talented culinary team to create a unique, bourbon-inspired dish that will be featured on the menu for a limited time in the newly debuted Swizzle Dinner & Drinks.

Perched on the 25th floor of the hotel, guests can take in the best river and city views that Louisville has to offer while savoring the visiting chef’s special bourbon dish, along with Swizzle’s other signature dinner, drinks and dessert specialties. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet the visiting chef on the launch day of their bourbon dish, which will remain on the menu for five weeks to allow plenty of time for foodies to try it (or come back for seconds).

“The Galt House has been known as the backbone of Louisville’s hospitality industry for over 180 years,” said Scott Shoenberger, President & CEO at The Al J. Schneider Company, parent company of The Galt House Hotel. “As we approach the completion of our hotel’s $80 million renovation in the coming weeks, we wanted to bring this spirit of hospitality to life in a modern way and collaborate with our neighboring chefs to offer a special dining experience for our guests.”

Swizzle’s Chef de Cuisine James Wilfong will work closely with each visiting chef on their respective bourbon dish, offering a true collaboration and melding of Chef Wilfong’s approach to southern flavors and use of Kentucky’s famed bourbon along with the guest chef’s own creative flair.

Visitors can expect a wide range of renowned chefs, starting with Chef/Owner James Anderson of Ray Ray’s Hog Pit, a cult-favorite barbecue spot in Columbus, Ohio. Anderson’s finger-licking flavors and focus on consistency and perfection has earned him recognition from the prestigious James Beard Foundation along with Food & Wine Magazine, Esquire Magazine, Southern Living, and Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Chef Anderson will be the featured chef from October 21 – November 26, 2020.

Anderson will be followed by Chef/Owner Michael Gallina of Vicia in St. Louis, Missouri from January 12 – February 9, 2021. Gallina is known for his locally sourced, and artfully prepared food. He is passionate about harvesting seasonal cuisine and has served in Michelin star kitchens like Eleven Madison Park and Blue Hill Stone Barns.

Other participating chefs to be announced later this year.
