Leading global travel insurance and assistance provider, Cover-More Group, confirmed that current Group CEO, Hanno Mijer, will move to a new executive leadership role with Cover-More’s parent, Zurich Group. He will join the Commercial Insurance business as Head, Commercial Insurance Services and report to James Shea, CEO Commercial Insurance for Zurich.

Cover-More Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Cara Morton, will lead the business as interim CEO to help navigate Cover-More through the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and prepare strategically for the resumption of global travel and the post-COVID economy.

The change is effective immediately.

Jack Howell, Zurich APAC CEO, thanked Hanno Mijer for his valuable contribution and strong leadership of the Cover-More Group since 2018.

Zurich Group acquired Cover-More Group in 2017 and Mr Howell confirmed that Cover-More remained a highly valued business within Zurich’s global operations given Cover-More’s potential, track record and unique strengths of embedding a customer-focused and entrepreneurial mindset. Cover-More is currently one of the top three travel insurance providers in the world with operations in 22 countries across five continents.

Cara Morton was appointed as Cover-More Group Chief Operating Officer in October 2018. She has an extensive track record in strategic business transformation with more than 25 years’ experience in consulting and senior management roles, having worked for Fortune 500 and ASX 100 corporations across banking, insurance, government, consumer goods and mining industries.
