Istanbul Biennial opens two artist films to online access every Friday in weekly periods since 3 April, in collaboration with the artists participated in past editions. More than thirty films will be made temporarily public on Istanbul Biennial’s website and İKSV’s Vimeo account for everyone to enjoy.

A bathroom of one’s own, Zeyno Pekünlü, 14th Istanbul Biennial
Angels of Hell, Halil Altındere, 5th, 9th and 13th Istanbul Biennials
Friday, 12 June
Something Old, Something New, Song Ming-Ang, 14th Istanbul Biennial
Winter Which Was Not There, Vajiko Chachkhiani, 15th Istanbul Biennial
Friday, 19 June
A Love Story, Amar Kanwar, 13th Istanbul Biennial
The Fall of Artists’ Republic, Pelin Tan & Anton Vidokle, 14th Istanbul Biennial

Alpi, Armin Linke, 16th Istanbul Biennial
Other than the works by Song Ming-Ang, Pelin Tan & Anton Vidokle and Ozan Atalan, which were previously screened at the Istanbul Biennials, all films in the June programme are open to access for the first time.
The artists who take part in the online selection with their films are Halil Altındere, Francis Alÿs, Volkan Aslan, Ozan Atalan, Ed Atkins, Alper Aydın, Rossella Biscotti, Kristina Buch, Vajiko Chachkhiani, Jonathas de Andrade, Elmas Deniz, Işıl Eğrikavuk, Jonah Freeman & Justin Lowe, Jorge Galindo & Santiago Sierra, Theaster Gates, Suzanne Husky, Pierre Huyghe, Emre Hüner, Rashid Johnson, Georgie Nettell, Armin Linke, Amar Kanwar, Maider López, Basim Magdy, Melvin Moti, Erkan Özgen, Zeyno Pekünlü, Cheng Ran, Mika Rottenberg, Pelin Tan & Anton Vidokle, Kaari Upson, Adrián Villar Rojas and Phillip Zach.
Istanbul Biennial believes that today, art can find an even greater outreach, and imagination is incredibly vast to be defined by physical boundaries. The project was born out of this commitment to celebrate art in all its forms.
Istanbul Biennial is organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) under the sponsorship of Koç Holding. The 16th edition of the Istanbul Biennial was held with the title The Seventh Continent between 14 September and 10 November 2019.
