Park Trek is offering four days of classic pack-free hiking this November to help support Victoria’s tourism industry with 100% of profits going to bushfire recovery. The Victorian Alpine region has been hit hard this year. To offer our support we have put together a Victorian Alps Bushfire Charity Walk, with 100% of profits going to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal. During this 4 day walking tour, you enjoy fantastic day walks carrying just your lunch and personal belongings in gorgeous alpine wilderness, exploring local sites, and eat out each night to support local businesses.
While we are running this trip to give back to the community, it’s a fabulous trip in its own right – a spectacular exploration of some of Australia’s most stunning alpine regions. We’ll explore the Bogong High Plains, an expansive undulating region set at a high altitude. We’ll get you right up amongst Victoria’s highest peaks, but the hiking is well within the reach of most walkers.
We’ll hike to Ropers Lookout for expansive views across the High Country at sunset. We’ll walk to Kelly Hut and Fitzgerald Hut where we’ll stop for lunch before taking the relaxing stroll back along the pretty Langford Aqueduct Trail. We’ll also follow the Wallace Heritage Trail to visit picturesque Wallace Hut, the oldest hut in the High Country.
Climbing to the summit of Mt Jaitmathang is a trip highlight. The walk is steadily ascending, taking you from Pretty Valley, past Tawonga Huts and up to the summit. From here you will gain stunning 360 degree views across Mt Feathertop, Mt Hotham and beyond.
This charity walk is running from Friday 20 to Monday 23 November, 2020.
