Each Friday, Amanyara’s head mixologist will be sharing a selection of the resort’s favourite and curated cocktails. Last week they kicked off the weekend, with the Elderflower Spritz, made with fresh cucumber, grape fruit juice, lime juice, and elderflower liquor to elevate our spirits.
Also collaborating with their Wellness Immersion Manager, David Melladew, Amanyara shared a mocktail recipe that works towards boosting your immune system – the Amanyara Cooler; which includes fresh grapefruit juice, lime juice, soda and mint. The tartness of these flavours, assists to astringe fluid from the body and to cool the body down. Mint works towards soothing the liver and as result reduce stress.
Monday 1st May
Elderflower Spritz
1 slice cucumber
½ oz Lime juice
1 oz Grapefruit
¾ oz St. Germain Elderflower
1 oz White wine (sauvignon blanc)
Top with club soda
Method:
Combine all the ingredients together in a shaking tin, except the club soda.
Shake then fine strain in a wine glass with ice then top with club soda.

French Julep
5 pcs mint leaves
¾ oz Lime juice
½ oz Demerara sugar*
½ oz Creole Shrubb (orange liqueur)
2 oz Cognac
Procedure:
Combine all the ingredients together in a shaking tin with ice.
Shake vigorously to crush the mint inside.
Fine strain mixture in a rocks glass or a julep cup with crushed ice.
*Demerara Syrup
1 cup demerara sugar
1 cup hot water
Combine water and sugar then stir until the solids melts.
Set aside to cool down. Put in a glass jar and keep in the fridge before use.
