Marriott International, Inc. welcomed Australia’s top business executives and luxury brand leaders including Sydney property developer John Boyd, Philip Corne (Louis Vuitton), Brioney Prier (Christian Dior Couture) and John Mutton (Burberry), to an opulent dinner last night to celebrate the triumphant return of The Ritz-Carlton to Australia, due when its 100th hotel opens in Perth next month.

Hosted by Lisa Holladay, Vice President and Global Brand Leader for The Ritz-Carlton and Bruce Ryde, Vice President, Luxury Brands and Brand Marketing, Asia Pacific Marriott International, the intimate invite-only event took place at John Boyd’s private Sydney penthouse, ‘Sky Mansion’, atop the ANZ Tower in Liberty Place showcasing jawdropping views across the Sydney city skyline.

The supper also welcomed media and VIP guests including Skye Leckie, Annie Cannon-Brookes and travel instagram star Tara Whiteman, as well as other key Marriott International executives including Victor Clavell, Vice President, Luxury Brands and Marketing (Asia Pacific) to be part of the milestone celebration. 

Showcasing the culinary talent of The Ritz-Carlton properties around the world, two Michelin star Spanish chef of Enoteca at Hotel Arts Barcelona (of The Ritz-Carlton Spain), Paco Pérez curated a stunning six-course native Australian menu, in collaboration with Jed Gerrard, Executive Chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Perth. Hero dishes included Abrolhos Island scallops,  lobster with ‘bolognese’ sauce and Mottainai Lamb, paired with a special Western Australian wine list in a nod to the new opening. For a sweet finish, guests were treated to cape gooseberry, raspberry and native thyme. 

One of Australia’s most powerful voices, Katie Noonan and the Australian String Quartet entertained guests with tracks from her album The Glad Tomorrow which had its world premiere in a special one-off performance at Sydney Opera House on Monday night.
